Fairytale Christmas draws the Christmas crowds at Albert Hall

Saturday 17th December 2011 was the annual Nottingham Symphonic Winds 'Kidsophonic' family concert at Nottingham's Albert Hall.  This year, the Fairytale theme saw the musicians dressed as fairytale characters, from Cinderella to Captain Hook and everything between.  Conductor and compere Alistair Parnell as Prince Charming, set the tone with lots of fun activities, singing and games. 

NSW were also joined by the girls of the Notts Gymnastics Academy who put on a display, devised especially for the occasion.  Performed to music of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, it featured girls from the Elite and Development squads.  The concerts attract large audiences who come along to enjoy some festive entertainment for all ages, and more than 1000 people attended the performances which took place morning and afternoon.
