We will be based in the village of Waidring, about an hour from Salzburg, which is a typical Tyrolean setting.  Despite being in a rural and picturesque location the village is well served with bars, restaurants, a bank, bicycle hire, cable car, bus service and outdoor pool complex.
The area has a great deal to offer, including outdoor pursuits, walking, trips to local attractions, with the possibility of a sightseeing trip to Salzburg.
See below for location map - zoom in or out to see where we are going!
Trip Advisor Reviews (all excellent!)
The hotel is 4 star and really lovely!  Rooms are well appointed, in a traditional style with en suite facilities, hairdryers, towels, bathrobes.  Breakfast is a huge choice of cereals, fruit, cheese, breads, meats.  On one morning we will be taken to a nearby mountain 'hut' for a Tyrolean breakfast.  Dinner is a great choice of starters, main course and dessert, and there is also 'Cafe und Kuchen' (coffee and cake) at 4 pm each day, just in case you get peckish.
There is a great bar, an indoor pool with outdoor sunbathing area, health suite with interesting aromatherapy treatments - all 'au naturel' as is the Austrian way(!)

We will be performing four concerts:
  • Going (nearby Tyrolean village with bandstand)
  • Kaprun Castle (part of local music festival - this is a formal concert)
  • St Gilgen (lakeside village, outside concert)
  • Waidring (where we are staying) with local band also performing!
